California Pacific Medical Center Receives American Stroke Association's Get With the Guidelines Silver Performance Achievement Award

The American Stroke Association recently awarded California Pacific Medical Center its Get With The GuidelinesSM–Stroke (GWTG–Stroke) Silver Performance Achievement Award at the association’s International Stroke Conference 2008. The award recognizes California Pacific Medical Center’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations. Help San Francisco Meet Goal of Being the First U.S. City to Test and Vaccinate all Asians and Pacific Islanders for Hepatitis B

To help stop the spread of hepatitis B, the Department of Public Health recently launched the San Francisco Hep B Free Campaign. This major collaborative brings together city government, private healthcare and non-profit community organizations—including California Pacific Medical Center and AsianWeek Foundation—in a two-year campaign to screen all Asian and Pacific Islander residents for hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. The campaign puts San Francisco at the forefront of America in fighting chronic hepatitis and is the largest healthcare campaign to target Asians and Pacific Islanders in the U.S. Read full article.

First-of-its-kind Terrain Park Helps Patients Conquer Real World Challenges

The Archibald/Ehrenberg Rehabilitation Terrain Park, a component of the California Pacific Regional Rehabilitation Center located at the Davies Campus, features many real-world challenges for patients in rehabilitation. Opened in November of 2007 after months of planning, the first-of-its-kind Terrain Park features a variety of walking surfaces, such marble flooring, gravel and sand hiking trails, sidewalk with a curb-cut ramp, and a cobble stone path, to help patients learn how to maneuver in different situations.
